'Show/tell me how' approach to teaching mathematics is important and should start as early as possible. It enables the children to make links between mathematical concepts and helps them apply their knowledge in problem solving activities.
We recommend: true or false/ explain how you know/ show me how/ spot the mistake/ convince me type of questions to check if the children fully grasped the concept or just learnt to follow the pattern.
Have you used any of the reasoning slides/maths masters cards?
